Abstract Contemporary Artist

Acrylic is my medium - abstract is my passion

My strong interest in painting began about 18 years ago when I left a 20 year career in purchasing/sales of restaurant supplies and wholesale foods.

When I approach a new painting it is with a palette knife using quick strokes and letting the spontaneity give me that connection with color, layers, texture and form. I enjoy painting abstract because of the puzzling, challenging and suspenseful journey. I am always searching for that place between abstract and realism.

My art education is mainly self taught. I do enjoy workshops from other artists, but feel by spending time in my own studio is the best way to learn. I exhibit in galleries, art shows, festivals, and open my studio yearly. I have been a recipient of several awards.

I am a member of Art Fusion critique group (just celebrated our 12th year) and formerly a member for 13 years with Three Rivers Artists Guild since it began in 2004. In the guild I served on the committee for our first gallery at End of the Trail Interpretive Center in Oregon City and the committee for Art in Windows for down town Oregon City.
